Overview
Yelofim is a movie streaming app that is designed to create an awesome movie experience for it’s users. It’s main goal is to design better user experience for the african community. I designed the web application and the mobile application.
To get started on my research i carried out competitive analysis. This allowed me to find out if there are any gaps in the market and to find out what client competitors are doing. I looked at a few competitors or similar platforms, to analyze UI, UX, User flow, IA and key features. I considered Netflix, Showmax, Iroko Tv, and Amazon Prime as my competitors to start my research. I considered both direct and indirect competitors while conducting this analysis

The major problem prior the invention of this product was that users needed an app where they can stream african movies with ease. This brought about Yelofim.
I conducted a survey to gather general insights from people’s experiences with streaming platforms in order to get their painpoints, needs and goals. I interviewed 8 people who ranged from 18 years and above. I identified patterns and similarities which helped me to uncover insights and identify user needs, goals and painpoints.

To keep the visual elements appealing and delightful, it was crucial to create a set of rules and guidelines that is clear and intuitive for end users. These includes customizable UI components, identifiable brand colors etc. Accessibility was considered in this

I used headings with different sized text fAor clear visual hierarchy.
I used colors that passed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines luminosity ratio.
